We bring Bangkok’s street kitchen to Vijzelstraat, the kind of cooking that’s been perfected over decades. A warm bowl of Thai noodles, made fresh, full of flavour. Just like back home.

What's on the menu?

From classic Pad Thai to spicy Tom Yum noodle soup, the full Siam Bowl menu is available during lunch.

Pad Thai – Stir-fried rice noodles with your choice of chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu. Seasoned with tamarind sauce and peanuts. A Thai classic!
Khao Pad – Thai fried rice with egg, available with chicken, beef, shrimp, seafood, or tofu.
Tom Yum Noodles – Rice noodles in a clear Tom Yum broth. Spicy, sour, and full of fresh Thai herbs.
Khao Khai Jeaw – Thai omelette with jasmine rice. The no-nonsense choice when you want something quick and good.

Hours & location

Siam Bowl is open Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 till 21:30, right in the centre of Amsterdam on Vijzelstraat 97. A short walk from the Bloemenmarkt, the Heineken Experience, and Leidseplein. Easy to reach by tram, and walk-ins are always welcome, no reservation needed.

I tried this place today and absolutely loved it! The Tom Yum noodles were incredibly delicious, and you can choose your preferred spice level which is great. The lemon iced tea was very rich and refreshing. The fried wontons were crispy and tasty, and the Thai coconut dessert was served warm and was really good.

The restaurant is very clean and located not far from Centraal, so it’s easy to get to. The service was excellent — I especially want to compliment the staff. They were very attentive and checked on every table regularly. Payment by card was also very convenient. I will definitely come back again!

The owner recommended their signatures: Creamy Tom Yam and Khao Soi… exactly what we were already eyeing.

🍜 Creamy Tom Yam (€20.95)
Soaked the fried tofu in the soup first … unreal. Squid, prawns, mussels all super fresh and sweet.
Didn’t plan to drink the soup… finished every drop.
Why does food this good have to test my self-control 😭

🍜 Khao Soi (€19.95)
Very laksa vibes. One bite of the chicken and I almost liked it more than my Tom Yam.
Rich curry coating every strand of noodle … instant Singapore flashbacks 🦁

Clear, slightly tangy broth, super bouncy fish balls. So good too.

🥥 Khanom Tuay (€7.5)
Coconut & pandan pudding — sweet, rich, cute… but one is definitely enough hhh.

☕️ Cha Dam Yen (€5)
Think Thai milk tea without the milk. Very sweet, still addictive.

Owner is the sweetest ! He’s from Koh Samui and planning a Shanghai Disney trip next year.

What a lovely place to have after work dinner!!!! I went today with two of my friends, we noticed this Thai noodles place recently just opened and we had a great meal there! We ordered the signature noodles the seafood one/ Thai curry one/ spicy pork one and the dessert. It was delicious! And the price is very friendly as well for working people and students.

I am a Thai who is living in the Netherlands and can say for certain that this is the best Thai place I’ve had so far. I had the Tom Yum Nam Sai Noodles and it felt like being right at home. Aroii mak!! The staff was also extremely lovely 🙂

The food was really good and tasted just like home. As a Thai person, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try! We also had Khanomtuay, it was soo gooddd. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and attentive. I’d happily go back again!! 🤩🤩

The food here is absolutely delicious! It truly feels like sitting and eating in Thailand. The flavors are authentic and full of taste. They even have a tuk-tuk in front of the restaurant where you can take photos, which makes the experience even more fun and special. I highly recommend this place!

Just passed by and stopped by for lunch, very friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere, food was very delicious, i had a Pad Thai that they very generously have made vegetarian for me. Thai Milk tea was also just right!

I was here recently and ordered Khao Soi and it was really good. The curry was creamy and full of flavor. It reminded me of the one I had in Thailand . The staff were super friendly and kind, and the service was incredible. Everything felt nice and comfortable. The price is worth it for the quality and portion. I will come back again for sure.
